Why oil sets in fast
Dallas County heat bakes oil into concrete quickly. A fresh drip sits on the surface for a day, but the sun and the porous surface pull it down, and within a week the stain is set into the slab where a simple rinse cannot reach it.
The darker the stain, the deeper the oil has gone. Old stains need a treatment that lifts the oil back out of the concrete, not just a spray that cleans the top.
The treatment that lifts it
A degreaser is applied to the stain and given time to dwell, so it can break the oil down and pull it toward the surface. Then a pressure wash at the right angle lifts the loosened oil and rinses it away, without driving it deeper into the slab.
Set in stains may need a second treatment, but the goal is always to lift the oil out, not to blast the surface. Too close a spray can etch the concrete and leave a mark that looks worse than the stain.
Protecting the surface and plants
The pressure is matched to the concrete, and surrounding plants and surfaces are rinsed before and during the wash so the degreaser and runoff do not harm landscaping. Edging and corners are detailed so the whole driveway looks even, not just the stained patch.
After the stain is gone, a clean driveway stays cleaner longer, because there is no oily film left to catch fresh dust and debris.
